75. SPECIAL FEATURE: A Fifteen Minutes of Fame Recap

Originally Published on December 6th, 2024 Trying New Things Here at Fifteen Minutes of Fame, I am learning as I go. I’ve only been in the online entertainment journalism game for a few months. I’m a little bit behind what’s trending, admittedly. However, my mantra is simple. I want to help grow a community of artists that rise together, all lifting each other in unison. That means, I don’t want to simply write an article and never hear from them again. That’s why I’ve established more than just the articles. I do interviews. I do the blind reactions. I do the shoutouts. I love reaching out to you guys to see where you’re at. I continue and maintain a friendship with many of the artists I speak with. Well, that’s great for me. But what if the loyal Fifteen Minutes of Fame readers want to know about whats going on with artists who had been reviewed a few months ago? Maybe they forgot about an artist that they really liked because Fifteen Minutes of Fame can feel like that in an ever-cha...

74. EP Review of Yuletide by Eth Eonel

Originally Published on December 10th About the Artist Eth Eonel  is the stage name of Kenneth Holter, a solo recording artist from Moss, Norway. At 45, music has always been a part of Holter’s life. As a vocal coach, an author, and a teacher, he is well equipped with the capacity to offer a melodically engaging, storytelling experience for listeners that come across his music.  Eth Eonel has been writing music his entire life. Through both solo ventures and as a member of various bands throughout his past, he started releasing these songs with his debut album  Drawing Lines (1989)  releasing in 2011. He would follow this release up five years later, in 2016, with  Another Failure . These releases, considered “archival releases, are inspired by Holter’s time in elementary school.  Apart from a couple of singles, Eth Eonel wouldn’t release again until 2023, when his third album,  See Through Mirrors (2003-2004) , and fourth album,  The Indescribabl...

73. Single Review of Time by Sage Sojourn

Originally Published on December 09th, 2024 About the Artist Here lately, I have been coming across a wonderful phenomenon of artists who are just starting to release music. Today’s feature includes one of those artists.  Sage Sojourn , the stage name for artist Rachel Edwards from Bethesda, Maryland, is a folk singer who debuted in August of 2024. Her debut single,  Signals , breathes new life into a reemerging genre of folk and alt-pop. Reminiscent of vintage sounds like  The Cranberries'  albums  Everybody Else is Doing it, So Why Can't We?  and  No Need to Argue , paired with some of the originally optimistic feel that kickstarted the global sensation,  Coldplay ; more specifically, their albums  Parachutes  and  A Rush of Blood to the Head , Signals is an ambient build that climaxes with an out of this world, airy vocal sequence that stops the world in its tracks. She would follow this statement-making debut with October’s...

72. Single Review of Running Up That Hill by Jenn DeSantis

Originally Published on December 8th, 2024 About the Artist In October, I started my Blind Reaction campaigns. One of the artists who submitted was  Jenn DeSantis . Her submission stuck out to me because it was IMMEDIATELY followed by a recommendation by a mutual friend and community building colleague that I check out her work. Intrigued, I pressed play on her music video for  Unrequited . Needless to say, I was  impressed . Floored is more appropriate. So, when I saw the announcement of a new single release, I couldn’t wait to break it down! Jenn DeSantis is a North Carolina - based alt-pop singer/songwriter. Her first release,  Someone Else , debuted in September of 2017. It showcased DeSantis’ impressive vocal capabilities paired with her dynamically percussive piano performance.  It would be two years until her next release where she would release the 5-song, 21 minute EP,  Chromatic Heart  featuring Unrequited.  She would release 6 more sing...

71. Album Review of Ruined Castle by Kid Lightbulbs

Originally Published on December 4th About the Artist This is the segment of the review where I generally introduce the artist before digging into the analysis of their work. And I am going to do that. But first. We Have to Talk About Radiohead When I was in high school,  I had heard of  Radiohead . I had a couple sentences at the ready for talking points. “I like  Paranoid Android ,” I would say if they were ever brought up in conversation. But, I was into my  Jars of Clay  phase with aspirations of being a Youth Pastor. Music was just this thing I knew I was good at that everybody ELSE expected me to do. It was not a priority for me. It wasn’t until;  in my quest to get to know this girl I was interested in, I bought  OK Computer  in the summer of 2000, that my attention would be reallocated to Radiohead. It was actually on the way home from a youth trip. I had just bought it at a music store when we stopped at a mall for lunch. I popped my bran...

70. Single Review of I Came Home for Christmas by David Trionfetti

Originally Published on December 3rd About the Artist Is it sad that I am a 43 year old man and, to this day, I cry at the ending of  Elf ? I get it. Most of that movie is intentionally made to make us laugh. It’s  Will Ferrell . He’s a SNL alumni. He gave us classics like Anchorman, A Night at the Roxbury, and Step Brothers. Elf is no different. There are a plethora of quotable lines, and a number of scenes that will leave its viewers in stitches. However, director  Jon Favreau  understands something about this story and is able to capture this in the movie’s emotional climax: there is no age limitation to the spirit of Christmas. So, when  Zooey Deschanel  stands above the gathered crowd and realizes “the greatest way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear,” I can feel the onslaught coming. Then it happens: right on queue, Santa’s Sleigh  takes off  right over the crowd’s heads right as the late  James Caan  joins on...

69. November Recap

Originally Published December 2nd, 2024 Hello one and hello all! I hope you all are transitioning into the holiday season nicely as we turn the corner around Thanksgiving weekend, Black Friday, etc. and head right into December!  The Holidays are a very special time, no matter our religion or heritage. These last two months of the year are centered around spending time with family; whether it’s taking time to appreciate loved we see every day or welcoming home loved ones who are separated by geography, life, or more. This is the first time I’ve welcomed home a child from being away for college. So, I am going to start off with an announcement regarding the December campaign…  For December, the campaign will run from today, December 2nd until Monday December 16th. From there, I will be taking a short vacation from Fifteen Minutes of Fame to prioritize time spent with my wonderful family, as should we all! I will be returning on Thursday, January 2nd, with our first 6 MONTH RECA...
