69. November Recap

Originally Published December 2nd, 2024

Hello one and hello all! I hope you all are transitioning into the holiday season nicely as we turn the corner around Thanksgiving weekend, Black Friday, etc. and head right into December!

The Holidays are a very special time, no matter our religion or heritage. These last two months of the year are centered around spending time with family; whether it’s taking time to appreciate loved we see every day or welcoming home loved ones who are separated by geography, life, or more. This is the first time I’ve welcomed home a child from being away for college. So, I am going to start off with an announcement regarding the December campaign…

For December, the campaign will run from today, December 2nd until Monday December 16th. From there, I will be taking a short vacation from Fifteen Minutes of Fame to prioritize time spent with my wonderful family, as should we all! I will be returning on Thursday, January 2nd, with our first 6 MONTH RECAP which will be LOADED with exciting new news of what is to be in store for 2025 as Fifteen Minutes of Fame hope to continue to grow! Thank you for your patience and understanding. Rest assured, this will be no hiatus. This is just a vacation through the holidays to focus my available time on my family, who mean the absolute world to me.

With that being said, on to the November recap!

What happened in November?

Speaking of Holidays, November is an interesting month, being that it is jammed between two very popular holidays (Halloween and Christmas/Hanukkah) and it boasts its very own popular holiday (Thanksgiving). With all of these distractions, Fifteen Minutes of Fame we’re still able to manage some productivity!

November Campaign:

The November Campaign was another stellar one: with announcements on Threads and Instagram, with nearly 8,000 combined reviews and hundreds of reactions, Threads led the way in activity sparking participants to submit reviews from all over the world.

Of these submissions, there were 9 completed reviews in a very busy holiday month with two representing Pennsylvania, two representing Canada, two representing England (one of them commutes back and forth from LA), two representing Massachusetts, and one representing New Zealand!

The following artists were reviewed:

Remarkably, in the 5 months that Fifteen Minutes of Fame have been publishing, there have been artists featured across 21 states (including Washington D.C.), which is nearly half of the country and there have been artists featured across the globe with reviews featuring artists from 11 countries worldwide and 4 continents!

Blind Reactions Campaign

There were 7 new posted blind reactions in the month of November! We featured artists from the United States, Europe, and Africa - including our youngest community member to date! I am continuing to go through submissions with the intent of reviewing EVERY qualified music video! Remember, to qualify you must meet the following criteria:
1. No AI music videos.
2. No exlusive lyric videos
3. No live performance, live demos (a live video of you performing your song in a private setting like a room or park)

Interviews

In November, we had the privilege of sitting down with Kathi Deakin, ahead of her sophomore single release, These Roots, which has already been played more than 1,000 on Spotify after its November 22nd release!

The Blog

The Fifteen Minutes of Fame Blog saw a dip from October’s overwhelming success in November, but still had a great month! In November, there was 1,043 site visits and as of today, our little blog has crossed the threshold of 6,000 total visits! Thank you to all who take the time to visit and support these artists! In all, there are now nearly 70 comments across the board, so the interaction is definitely steadily increasing as well!

My, How We’ve GROWN!!!

Social Media

Threads continues to be the platform that has been growing significantly every month! Since the beginning of November, Threads has grown to 1,330 followers, the profile was viewed nearly 19,000 times, and there were more than 1,100 interactions! Way to stay involved in the Fifteen Minutes of Fame Community!

Instagram continues to trend in the right direction right behind Threads as there was an increase to 810 followers - we are eeking ever so close to that incredible milestone of 1,000! There was a reach of roughly 3,000 instances where our content fell onto a set of eyes and 300 engagements!

Facebook Continues to be our slowest growing profile as, admittedly, this is the least frequented profile. However, we grew to 127 followers, we had 1,300 site visits, and 130 total engagements!

Our youngest platform, YouTube, continues to boast rapid growing potential, nearly doubling our total followers from last month to now having 60 total followers! Additionally, there have now been over 1,200 total views and more than 200 engagements in just 2 months of being live!

Yes, I have launched a Bluesky Profile…

However, I’m not yet very active on there. I will work on building engagement here at the turn of the new year for sure!

A Word About TikTok…

Being a resident of the United States of America, I have the misfortune of recognizing that a relationship with TikTok is a volatile one. As it stands now, it appears there will be a ban on the app in January. Given the nature of our political situation, I don’t see much hope for that changing. So, for now, I am not going to be sharing any updates on this platform.

What’s NEXT?

December Campaign!!!

Though I haven’t officially announced it yet, the December campaign is UNDER WAY!!! As previously mentioned, December will be a short month for Fifteen Minutes of Fame as we will be packing in the incredible experience of 2024, settling in with family to enjoy this holiday season, and setting our sights on an EPIC 2025!!!!

This goes for BOTH the review campaigns AND the Blind Reaction Campaigns! So, get them in while the gettin’s good!!!

Final Thoughts

At the end of the month, I will have been running Fifteen Minutes of Fame for half of a year. I am so profoundly grateful for the positive response that I’ve received from starting this forum. I love how it’s a living breathing thing that evolves with art and artists today. Sure, I’m an older guy, so some of this stuff is a little bit of yesterday’s ideas. But, I try not to concern myself with that. I want to be a beacon for independent artists to come and find if they want to be HEARD. I can promise their music will fall on at least one new set of ears. Every month, I give it my ALL to listen to every submission, even if it’s just once. And I’m sure that any artist who has been reviewed can attest, I listen to those selections SEVERAL times! I want Fifteen Minutes of Fame to feel personal to each and every one of you. As a young artist, I remember what it felt like to get that recognition when I was starting out and I had aspirations of “making it.” Now that those dreams have long faded, what’s left of me is a LOVE for making music and still a DESIRE to be heard. I want to hear you. I want each and every one of us to listen to EACH OTHER! A community of artists, lifting together.

I love this community. I love what it represents. I cannot WAIT to see what’s in store. I hope you all have a very wonderful holidays. Take some time to spend time with your loved ones. If you don’t have anybody you want to spend the holidays with, send me a message on Instagram. I’ll be happy to chat, call, talk music, life, or anything you need to get off of your chest. I have my family, and I have my FMOF family. You can always feel free to hit me up about anything you might want to talk about!

Cheers!
